Profile: A tall off spinner who is probably the most complete bowler in the Sunrise team, Tavendra Pooran joins Derrick Kallicharran and Narsingh Deonarine as the only players in Sunrise to represent Guyana.
Standing at six foot one with a high elegant action, good control of flight and a deceiving arm ball, Pooran possessed sufficient guile to trouble the best. His skills had been honed in Guyana playing for Albion Cricket Club where as a 14-year-old he went on to represent Berbice and Guyana at the under 15 level. He would have also played for Berbice at the Under 19 level as a 17-year-old but then migrated to the United States.
Pooran now plays for Albion Cricket Club in the Nassau League.
